News: Obama: Voting rights under attack

Slowly dismantling the key components of particularly the voting laws, suggesting blacks aren't in need of such protections because it's "not" the 1950's anymore

This upcoming Congressional election is really important. If Republicans gain the Senate, then they can pretty much block anything the Dems try to do, and that will severely hurt Hillary's chances to win. She can't win on a party that will not have been able to do anything.

I do hope that the shut down will hurt Republicans in reelection for 2014, but there are way more Democrat seats up for reelection this term.
