Yup! When I was 3-4 I used to get hit like every day with like a 6 foot wooden stick or a wooden spoon because my mom made me read books and do math everyday, but after she left the room, I would try to sneak watch TV. She caught every single time.
Wasn't really abuse though because the worst I got was bruises on a rare day. As I grew older, it was usually because I got under a 90/100 on a test. She stopped when I was like 10-ll though. After that, my punishment was not being allowed to do fun things for like a week.
