I'm glad she's not repeating herself, the direction she's taking suits her perfectly and I must say I wasn't expecting her music to sound similar to this, but I'm positively surprised
Dumpster starts off as a mid-tempo, throughout, the mood changes and you can jump to the chorus,
the pre-chorus samples Kanye's Power - the yelling part. I like it.
I haven't heard a song as good as Jupiter Drive in a long while. it has a chill vibe to it, might come off as a ballad, her voice in the verses is immaculate, I can't clearly hear the words so I'm not sure what it's about, but during the verses I felt like I can feel the pain and I got in that mood, when you feel like crying but you know you won't, hard to explain actually. The Chorus is weaker than rest but it fits the theme good.
can't wait until she releases this one
Summing up, both songs are cohesive in a good way, which means she knows the direction for this project.
They both live up to the hype, at least mine. I'm concerned about one thing only, I hope the final studio version won't be too mastered, overproduced and changed. It's good the way it is, sometimes artists hurt the record by putting another twist to it. I don't want to be in another situation like I had been with Dev's debut album, I loved all the performances, but the final record was lacklustre compared to what I was prepared for.
If anyone cared enough to read it, wow.
edit: after the second listen to Jupiter Drive I got it. Her tone of voice does that to me, it induces these type of emotions. However the song is unlikely to be painful, from what I hear it's about a relationship and a consumption of it. Still, everything depends on the interpreter.
