I hate to bump this damn thread up, but I need to speak my mind on the matter.
First of all, I'm dying of laughter at those who are taking Kworb's stance on Oasis so seriously. For one, I mean, SURELY people know not to take Kworb that seriously, right? Secondly, I think he knows that what he's saying really is an opinion, but he knows that he can get a rise out of you guys, so he does it.
Okay, anywho, the topic on hand...
"Good Music", as pointed out, is in the eye of the beholder. Period. Anyone who says otherwise is an ignorant tool.
Now, does this immediately stop me from pointing out when someone's taste does not co-exist with mine? Not right away, no.. But I completely realize that people will listen to whatever the **** they want to listen to, even if I can't stand the songs myself, and I can't stop them from listening. If they enjoy it, THEY enjoy it. I mean, hell, I'm sure that quite a few people would have problems with *my* taste, so it's all relative and it's all opinion. I understand that.
Am I a fan of Jesse McCartney's music? No. Am I a fan of Rihanna's music? Not really, no. But it's not MY place to decide what music people should listen to. "Good Music" is what you make of it, whether that be Chris Brown or The Mars Volta or Beck or Carrie Underwood or any other musician or group of musicians.
