Jonasha, I know there is sense in what you said but we have never had Pigs/Cows/Chicken as pets.

The saying is NOT Pigs/Cows/Chicken is men's best friend

BUT Dog is men's best friend.

I would never sacrifice my dog for anything.

There is no difference between killing a chicken, apig, a cow or a dog.

The United States will certainly NOT have any of it.

Too many dog owners in this country. Including myself and I find this to be very disturbing that they would do that to them

But that's a very ethnocentric view. I mean, I wouldn't want to eat dogs but in India they worship cows similarly to like how we do dogs.

I think it's better to keep an open mind about other cultures and what's considered "normal" to them, even though you would not partake. If they're not inhumanely killing dogs and are just doing it for consumption, I don't see the problem if it's not against the laws in those areas.

However, any type of illegal trading/black markets should be condemned.

If you had a pet pig you'd find it loving and grow a bond/relationship with it too (and they're kinda cute as babies). No animals deserve this treatment regardless of how they look.

This truly is tragic, but is it really all that different from the way many Westerners consume the meat of cows, chickens, and other helpless 'farm animals'? No, it's not.

I wish people would start viewing animals as living beings instead of things. They're no more things than you or me.
