I've only been criticizing her hair because I'm a hair dresser myself and I'm not going to beat around the bush saying her hair is in perfect condition when it's not. Bleach mixed with it's appropriate amount of peroxide is lethal to the hair cuticles. If she was to add highlights or anything to her hair right now it would simply fall out because the elasticity inside the hair cuticle is so damaged.

So why would she dye her hair brunette to keep it healthy? shouldn't she dye it to her natural color (blonde, not platinum) instead? Unless Hilary's hair went darker as she grew up (it happens to some blonde people i think) but i don't know about it

She might've been born blonde, but she's naturally a brunette. I'm surprised you haven't noticed her regrowth in the past lol.

It's a light brown. I don't know if there's a specific name for it's shade, but you can see it clearly in this photo:
