With shapeshifter Mystique (Jennifer Lawrence) taking a pivotal role in Past‘s plot, Donner says she’d be interested in taking that character into a solo film. Producer/writer Simon Kinberg (X-Men: First Class) also says he likes the idea of a Gambit spin-off and one for Mystique. Admits Kinberg, “I love what Jen Lawrence has done with her, and I feel like because she is in such a crowded ensemble, there’s so much more opportunity if you were to follow her solo.”
She wouldn't sign on to do it imo. The reason she did xmen in the first place was for money I believe. This was before THG and silver linings so she needed to get herself out there. I love Jennifer but she doesn't seem passionate as Mystique compared to Katniss. She LOVES The Hunger Games franchise compared to Xmen. You can tell through the interviews.
I'm not sure if I'd be here for a solo movie though, especially if the plot is as abysmal as the Wolverine one. Not to mention she's already the lead of a huge franchise.
Jennifer was good as Mystique. The character was a different person (emotionally speaking) to the character in later films. Jennifer did the script justice and I'm sure she'll slay in DOFP
