His follow-up to Happy should absolutely be Come Get It Bae. It has a commercial, and if he got Miley in the video or a performance, it could hit the Top 10.
Pluss, Miley isn't releasing #GIR, which it would've sounded similar too, so there's even more room for CGIB to smash.
The pants are kinda ugly, the jacket is 4 sizes too small and the hat needs to go away.
With that being said, the performance is not tragic. It's just ok.
