"An Israeli company has unveiled a new device which can reportedly charge a smartphone in less than 30 seconds.
The StoreDot was unveiled at Microsoft's Think Next event in Tel Aviv, and displayed how it can fully charge a Samsung S4 from zero battery life in just 26 seconds."
"The battery is built from biological structures and functions using crystals just two nanometres in diameter, which are made from amino acid chains called peptides.
"Batteries are just one of the industries we can disrupt with this new material. It is new physics, new chemistry, a new approach to devices," said StoreDot founder Dr Myersdorf.
The device will not be available to purchase until late 2016, with the current prototype deemed too large for slim mobile devices.
They are expected to sell in stores for around £18, around double the cost of an average charger."
