So...the recent man vs. women thread trend inspired me to finally post this, although I wanted to for a while.
Basically, it is understood by most of ATRL that only whites can be racist, as they are the ones "in power", and the advantages of whites are systematically ingrained. Does the same apply to men?
Like...say a woman says "all men are lazy, unhygienic dogs", is it sexist, or prejudiced?
It just confuses me because there's also been a long-held, institutionalized suppression of women...and that's the whole reason why minorities can't be racist. I thought the same would apply here.
Duh. That's like saying minorities can't be racist.
There are people on here who will tell you that minorities can't be racist - only prejudiced because they don't have an institutionalized (I see that word a lot in these arguments) advantage.

Minorities can't be racist and women can't be sexist.
Anti-White racism and misandry are mythsrare and near-negligible phenomena only brought up by people who don't want to acknowledge the reality and ever-present dangers of anti-POC racism and misogyny.
I see women being sexist against their own kind pretty often, whenever they call another woman a skank or whatever based on how she is dressed. They can also be sexist when they call a man "unmanly" for this or that quality.
people who don't see it are idealistic to the point of ignorance.
Women can be just as prejudiced as men, but it is not "sexism" because women do not hold political, economic, and institutional power. "Sexism" does not just mean a gender being discriminated against in one form.
If a woman says she hates men or discriminates against them only because of their gender - she is a sexist. I don't understand why this is such a tough concept. I don't care if it isn't "institutionalized", it's still sexism.

No, that's your definition and definition of social justice bloggers who came up with this nonsense in the first place.
It's actually the definition they teach in "women's studies" in post-grad at tertiary level, but please, tell me otherwise and I'd love to see your sources!
