Basically. Azealia lacks a certain amount of tact and professionalism to which she defends as "keeping it real." Who wants to work with someone so critical, irrational, and so hell bent on success that it eclipses their artistry? Gaga certainly didn't.

They might be in the process of dropping her. She is probably now seen as a liability to the label.

Probably... Her publicity team must be making a pretty penny since her UK label pretty much isn't. Does anyone know who her American label/distributor is?

You're extremely naive if you think Azealia herself was responsible for the delays. The album was finished in early 2013 but her label have constantly pushed back the release because they haven't had a hit to launch it off. An insider who works for Digital Spy recently commented that the album is finished but the label haven't a clue what to do with her.

Polydor, and other labels, can also delay releases in favor of others. I know Angel Haze had this problem for her debut. Dropping an album really requires a lot of resources for promotion. It's an even bigger financial gamble to NOT have a strong campaign behind an album. Again, look at what happened with Angel Haze. She refused another delay and the label gave her an ultimatum: release on 12/30/13. Just after the holiday purchasing season, at an incredibly busy time for the whole world. She sold roughly 800 copies in the U.S. and even less in the UK if memory serves me right.

I think Azealia Banks would enjoy success outside of the commercial market. She certainly knows how to draw attention to herself, and if she self-released her music through an independent label.. she could reap more profits and buy the weaves "worth more than your mother's rent" as she speaks of.
