Usher isn't playing any shows in the United States this summer except for one: Summerfest on closing night.
Festival officials have confirmed Usher will headline the Marcus Amphitheater on July 6.
Surprise factor aside, this is a major get for the Big Gig, which already boasted fellow top-tier pop acts Bruno Mars and Lady Gaga, plus the highly anticipated return of Outkast. R&B-oriented Usher has eight Grammys and nine No. 1 Billboard hits and has sold 65 million albums worldwide.
The Summerfest show is preceding the anticipated fall release of Usher's next album, so there's the possibility he'll premiere new material in Milwaukee. And he'll certainly perform hits from "Confessions," the bestselling solo album in the U.S. during the first decade of the 21st century, which is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year.
