The purpose of this study is to look at different uses of music linking music preferences to personality, values, emotions and identity. This project is conducted by Diana Boer at Victoria University Wellington, New Zealand. Please, take part.

I live and breathe music. It's around me every second.

Music is my anti-drug. If I am down or angry, music lightens my mood. I constantly listen to music at work, and it, in fact, improves my productivity. I don't know how I could exist without music. It just makes me happy.

Music saved my life. It's always there for me when no one else is, the first thing I want to hear when I wake up and the last thing I want to hear before I sleep. It's just... everything.

Music is my absoulete passion. Music revolves around my everyday life. Everytime I'm in any sort of mood, any one song can place that mood. Even when I'm in a good mood, listening to a sad or slow song can lower my level and make me think about different things in my life. That shows how much music has over people, and especially over me.
