Exactly. I can justify fans following and tagging along if it's a public event like a concert, a radio appearance, an album release party. After all, they are public appearances for the public; it's just fans showing their hardcore stanning. I've done this for Avril on her album release day (Today Show -> radio promo -> album release party) for example, and it's totally in the spirit of innocent fan girling.
On the flip side, I would never in a million years wait outside the record label offices or recording studio though. I would never wait outside my faves hotel or residence. I would never stand outside a restaurant they are eating at. I've been fortunate to meet my fave multiple times + interview her, but the novelty has worn off a bit the more times I meet her. I don't understand how it hasn't for them with Gaga though.
