I'm just trying to show you that picking one country--or territory, because as someone said country is more of a Midwest-South genre--to prove one artist is more relevant doesn't make sense.

I'm picking the whole country--the country that both came from, their biggest markets...and in Blake's case, his almost only market. I wasn't trying to be so shady, I mean if it was 2011 obviously Britney would've been more relevant and her career is massive compared to his. I don't see why people get so offended by this. His albums have done better, he's had successful singles, he's doing The Voice. People go in and out of being more/less relevant.

True, but being more relevant in any case does not give an artist the right to make jokes about other artists. If that were the case...

Did it flash to Jamie Lynn's face when that was said? The country community is probably not happy about a Spears infiltrating tbh. Country music is quite a "members only" type crowd. The only reason Taylor has been accepted is because of her sales and they only think highly of her for that reason.

Hillbilly isn't a reference to "the south" or all of the south I should say. It references to the rural, mountainous areas primarily in Appalachia. Louisiana is not part of the "Appalachia" region. The most commonly stereotyped states for hillbillies are Tennessee and West Virginia, or at least the ones I hear mostly referenced.


It's no biggie though! A few tweets and be done with it. Not something that's needed to lose sleep over.

But people make jokes like this all the time on here. It's not a big deal. And "If that were the case" what? Gaga? I know she's not the most relevant artist right now but I'm not getting offended or whining about it. It just happens!

Anyway, I was saying this all in response who probably shadily was asking who he was. So part of my response was reactionary. Didn't think people would get so upset.

So I don't even listen to Britney's music, but she is one of the nicest celebrities out there. What Blake did was totally unnecessary
