Well I finally heard AT40 this morning and:

1) G.U.Y. sounds great on radio
2) Not her effortlessly shading Katy, "She's a really fun artist."

All the other tracks DO NOT sound the same.

Venus would have been dire as a single, it's so messy, it sounds like 3 songs mashed into one

G.U.Y was easily the best choice

I used to dislike G.U.Y. so much even before the underperformance but the release as a single and the video made me realize how good the song really is. I'm addicted to it now

The "take me to your planet" section of Venus truly slays. If the verses and production were slightly better, I think it could have rivaled Bad Romance.

I really believe Venus is her second best song and she NEEDS to do something with it before it's too late.

I think it is clear at this point that their shared input is what creates genius; not him by himself or really her by herself either. They both know how to make damn good music and know how to work together (unlike someone like Zedd that just tossed her scraps).

Anywho. How is G.U.Y. doing? I think things are starting to get better.
