Oh please. First of all.... it is not
proven. The study suggested that doing 3-4 hours of homework per night
may make you sick. Maybe you should read the article before referring to its claims?
1. Very few schools actually give that much homework. I would be SHOCKED if any of my students do more than an hour a night. They only have 4 classes a day and many classes do not give homework (I never do), and others only give homework occasionally. I have never heard of a gym class that had homework.
2. They could cut back by teaching you less. In which case many would fail out of the college entrance exams anyways.
3. Certain classes MUST require homework because
practice is a major component of the subject. Art, Choir, Band, Math, etc all come to mind. There is no way you can reform yourself out of the need for practice.
