It really sucks. Especially when the guy is straight. I fell for my best friend in 8th grade. I always slept over his house and we slept in the same bed, we used to wrestle and he always touched/slapped my ass. I couldn't help but develop feelings for him. And I thought there was a slight chance that maybe he liked me back so I told him how I felt and he was shocked. He knew I was gay because his older brother was gay and he always begged me to tell him who I had a crush on, but I always denied that I was even gay. I never understood why he was so concerned about who I had a crush on so that's why I thought maybe he was hoping that I said it was him I had a crush on, so that's why I finally told him. It was very awkward for the rest of the night. A week or so after, we got into some sort of arguement and he told a few of his friends that I was gay. Surprisingly, those friends didn't really spread it and thankfully I had a normal "coming out" on my own terms a year after and it wasn't like I was outed to the whole school, just a few of his irrelevant friends. Anyway, he apologized and I forgave him, but things are stll pretty awkward between us, and I still see him/speak to him sometimes since our families are really close, but honestly I don't really regret telling him even though things were never the same between us. I couldn't deal with holding that in.
