You all trivializing this is disgusting. There is obviously something wrong with the term, and there needs to come a change... END OF
It's funny how this statement has been proven wrong countless times and the only defense you guys have is "IT'S WRONG!!" with no reasons why our statements are incorrect. Girl bye
Nope. Not even this is wrong. It's a play on a quote from the iconic film Paris Is Burning during Venus Xtravaganza(who actually was trans)'s legendary read: "Pedro are you going through it? Are you going through some kind of psychological change? Touch this skin darling, touch all of this skin. You can't take it. You're just an overgrown orangutan."
Anyone who has seen the film can even pick up on how Ru mimic's Venus' pronunciation of the word psychological. These social justice warriors think they are helping when they show exactly how ignorant they are. Paris is Burning is literally iconic in terms of BOTH drag and trans culture and these little Tumblr queens are showing exactly how ignorant they are to this culture. Our history was so rarely documented yet these stunt queens really are trying to come for terminology that was both accepted and embraced by the drag queens and trans girls? Gurl ****ing bye.
Idiots like Carmen Carrera need to shut the **** up cause I know her dumb ass doesn't know **** about our culture or history of the word 'she-male.' She just wants to be a pretty girl, and that's fine. But if you're that vapid and flat-out stupid, do not comment on real social issues.
For the girls on here trying to act like they know something:
Y'all coming for Carmen not having a problem with it on the show are so stupid. She still identified as male at the time, and probably couldn't have been personally offended by it.

Trans people are either women, or men. Not both. Gender neutral is not trans. Therefore SHE - MALE literally refers to a drag queen. SHE (the female illusion) MALE (Their gender). It has nothing to do with trans people so just don't try it
The ignorance.
To be trans is literally to be anything except your birth sex. If you were born in a male body but identify as gender neutral, you're trans.
I don't understand how any of you people who aren't trans are going to tell a transwoman what to and not to be offended by. Like...
Another trans woman who was on drag race came out and said it was ridiculous to be offended. The mini-game and words had nothing to do with trans people, so it is not their place to be offended.

That isn't trans... that's exactly what your called it.. gender nuetral. The root word trans means "across." Man - woman. woman - man. Gender Nuetral is an entirely different thing. The ignorance of the english language

If someone says they're offended by something that's clearly been used in offensive ways before, stop. It's not that hard. There's no reason to justify, especially if you're not trans, why using a transphobic slur is okay. "Shemale" is often used in a derogatory manner, and obviously, Carmen was offended by it, because it calls back to its derogatory use.

Wrong, though. What I said is correct: If you don't identify with your physical body's sex/gender, you're trans, regardless of what you identify as currently.

Trans people don't get to take words that have nothing to do with them and decide to be offended. Besides, if someone is going to be hateful, and a trans woman is standing next to a drag queen, the hateful person doesn't care about the difference. They both will have the same slurs used against them. Tranny and she-male are for ANYONE not following gender binary. Therefore, they are drag queen slurs as well AND they have the right to use them.
Now, onto your gender nuetral statement. You just said I was wrong, yet you aren't providing reasons as to why. I provided, you know, the ****ing english language, and you provided a stern "wrong" okurrr mama

But "lady boy" and "shemale" are so often used in a derogatory manner against trans people, it's no surprise someone would get offended by their use. And no-- a drag queen isn't a gender of its own. They're cisgendered men who dress up by women but still identify as male. They don't get to reclaim slurs used against trans people just because they dress as the opposite gender.
I'm saying wrong because I've already provided what it is. You can't prove something like that, just like you can't prove that "trans" is specifically for what you say its for. You can't prove a gender. All I know is that I do know a gender neutral person who says they are a part of the trans community as a result. I can't speak for all trans people, but I'm going with what I've heard from other trans people: If you don't identify with your body, you are trans, regardless of what you identify as.

I didn't say gender nuetral had to be proved? I was educating you on english, babygirl. And drag queens aren't another gender, but you fail to acknowledge the slur is still used against them and therefore just as much their's as trans people. AND it's been a staple drag queen term for ages and nothing will change that. All these issues are solved by 3 simple steps
1. Stop crying about words
2. If you wanna be an activist, actually be a REAL activist
And 3. Stop crying about words
