Recently, I bought a new iPhone 5s and everything was going fine. Maybe about a week ago, I tried to sync it and certain songs wouldn't sync? It only happened to songs by artists whose names start with M-Z. What's strange is that the first (or the first few) songs from each album will sync, but the majority of the songs won't. Sometimes they appear on my phone, they're just inactive and won't play. I've updated the software on my phone and tried the newest version of iTunes, but nothing is changing. I've even tried removing the songs from my iTunes and re-adding them, but again, nothing is changing?
Idk maybe try logging out of your iTunes accounts on your computer and your phone and then log back in both and then try again? Something similar happened to me
Do you have it set to "sync only checked songs"? If you do and you don't have those songs checked then that would be it.
If that's not it you might want to try deleting and re-syncing your whole music library to your phone (Settings > General > Usage > [wait for the thing to load] Music > Edit > Delete).
I had this problem with my iPad a few weeks ago. I tried this and it worked so maybe it'll work for you too. It only works on your main PC and these are instructions for Windows 8.1:
1. Go to Windows 8.1 Control Panel.
2. Go to Hardware and Sound; Devices and Printers; Unspecified (look for Apple Mobile Device USB Driver)
3. Right-click, then select properties on the menu list.
4. Select the "Hardware" tab at the top When the properties dialog box opens, once more select properties on the lower right hand button.
5. Under the "Driver" tab menu, the update driver button will be grey and unselectable here. So you need to select and click "Change Settings" button located near the lower left corner.
6. Now you can click the "Driver" tab menu near the top, so you can see the "Update Driver" button.
7. Select "Update Driver".
8. Select and click "Browse my computer for driver software".
9. For Windows 8.1 64 bit, it should be located in the folder: C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support\Drivers.
10. Click Next, and let the driver re-install.
11. iTunes 11.1.4.62 should open automatically if your iphone is connected already.
Update: So I noticed that everytime I tried to sync, it would get stuck on Miley Cyrus's 'Drive'. I deleted the track and now everything is working fine! Thanks everyone for your help.
