The rule isn't new at all. We've received many DMCA complaints regarding sourcing and members posting full articles. That's why the rule is in place and you were warned. Anyone else would have received the same warning.

Don't take it so personal, we're strictly enforcing the infringement rule. That was directions which came DIRECTLY from Joe, the site owner. He had enough with the complaints and threats of legal action against ATRL. Asking for a source, is not the responsibility of the staff when moderating threads. It is your responsibility as a poster, to ensure that when you thread something, you properly source and format it to the guidelines of the site in the beginning.

Threads can be reopened, if you send help requests with the source. We could attach the link to the original post and the thread can become active once again. However the penalty that comes with infraction, stays. Posting articles without citing the source is on "almost," but not quite, on the same level as file sharing.

GoodBYE at my thread being closed. Flamebait/trolling threads can lay open for like days, yet when a thread about moderators is created it's closed in a flash. You betta remove all traces of moderator criticism honeys! Mess.

Legitimate and constructive criticism is encouraged - in here. If you can be more constructive and respectful than flat-out accusations of (or polls about) bias, we can listen! We're people, we acknowledge that we make mistakes, but the attitude in pointing out our mistakes has become far too confrontational and disrespectful in general in my opinion. Look at the monthly reports - we reverse things when we make mistakes. We correct our errors. We're more respectful in our own warnings and behaviors now. There's no need for anything but respectful and helpful criticism, and unsupported allegations of bias such as those which would be propagated by that thread (especially when the claims are also completely uncalled for) aren't really that helpful.
