I know Rih mixes genres all the time but like that article said she has all the hits but theres still something missing.
For example: you have a song like Chandelier come out and people automatically say oh this sounds like Rihanna. Reggae or songs that highlight her accent is the most identifiable thing about Rih's music. Nobody else in the industry does it like her.
IMO She needs to capitalize off of it. She needs to be more than just the blueprint for hit songs in the industry.
