Is Weed Considered a Drug?
And if so, is it wrong to be addicted to it?
We all know addiction is a terrible thing, whether it's a harmful or non-harmful thing. After all, by the words of Girls Aloud's only member I know, "too much of anything can make you sick, even the good can be a curse."
So, think before you answer about weed:
Is it wrong?
Does it hurt?
Is it a drug?

Yes it's a drug. Yes it's considered morally wrong due to culture but that's obviously changing. No it doesn't hurt but if you think it's not bad for you then you are obviously mistaken.

Yes it is. Smoking weed is not 'good' for you, but it's not as bad as a lot of other things you could be doing.

It's a drug and it's not harmful or wrong to do but it is still looked down upon and just because it's not bad don't mean it's good. But people can do whatever they like.

It's a plant that grows naturally and isn't man made. No it isn't a drug, it shouldn't be illegal (making nature illegal is completely ridiculous), and I don't believe it has a major negative impact on people's lives or 'leads to worse things'. If alcohol, which is much worse for a person and kills millions of people every year and destroys people's lives, isn't illegal then why on earth should weed be. Give me one good reason. I don't smoke weed and never have but I really don't see a reason for it to be illegal. Plus all these people getting arrested for marijuana related "crimes" is taking up space in jails and taking focus off of people that are actually committing crimes.

For the people saying it is not harmful, what do you feel towards this study that states the side effects of using Marijuana:
"Heart disease: Marijuana might cause rapid heartbeat and short-term high blood pressure.
A weakened immune system: Cannabinoids in marijuana can weaken the immune system, which might make it more difficult for the body to fight infections.
Lung diseases: Long-term use of marijuana can make lung problems worse. Regular, long-term marijuana use has been associated with several cases of an unusual type of emphysema, a lung disease.
Seizure disorders: Marijuana might make seizure disorders worse in some people; in other people it might help to control seizures.
Surgery: Marijuana affects the central nervous system. It might slow the central nervous system too much when combined with anesthesia and other medications during and after surgery. Stop using marijuana at least 2 weeks before a scheduled surgery."

What it's considered as is irrelevant. It is a drug, a damn good one too...

Weed clearly isn't the best for people's longterm health, but if a person knows that and decides to indulge in it anyway, what's wrong with that.

First let me say this, Weed ISN'T addictive. For the last year I've smoked at least a blunt a day until this Monday and I haven't smoked since nor do I have the urge to smoke (But I will light up tonight ). A common misconception is that Weed is a gateway drug which is a lie I've never done hard drugs hell the only pills I take are the ones prescribed to me.

All those effects you listed are from people who already have the symptoms of those diseases of course smoking isn't going to be healthy for someone who has emphysema or has seizures.

If you vape, number 1 and 2 aren't a problem. Seizures are anomalies not common long-term effects. And the last one requires two weeks of abstinence, which is fine considering it's non-addictive.

Yes, it is a drug. Yes, it can be harmful to you. And yes, it can be addicting. People like to play it down as if its not that bad of a drug, but it can have just as many bad effects as others.

Drinking is worse for you, so I don't understand how anybody could have a problem with it. If you have underlying schizoid personality traits, though, you could become schizophrenic, so I'd check for a family history of mental illness before blazing

Is it wrong?: That's for you to decide. Marijuana has been found to have some health benefits (I'm on my phone right now and I don't feel like looking then up myself but they're well-documented) as well as some mild to moderate risks. Contrary to popular belief, it can be addictive for some people.
Does it hurt?: No.
Is it a drug?: Yes. But so are caffeine and alcohol. Being a drug doesn't necessarily make it a bad thing.

I love weed, I smoke it like every other day and it's truly relaxing. It's so much better for you than drinking too!
