Bill Werde, the former editorial director of Billboard, has spent a lot of time trying to pump up his favorite artist Lady Gaga in a dangerous, obsessive way. Werde always looks more queer than the Tooth Fairy at a night out in West Hollywood (not that there is absolutely anything wrong with that unless you pretend to be straight), but he acts more like George W. Bush by using guerrilla tactics in order to push his number one agenda—helping Lady Gaga. Truthfully, I am only speculating on Werde’s sexual orientation, but I know his human orientation falls under the category of “nasty.”
Before I continue, I would like to say (for the umpteenth time) that the name “Angela Cheng” I use is a nickname and, of course, my profile picture isn’t real (I’m much better looking!). I have made it quite clear that in order to avoid death threats from music stans and music industry executives (who are as bad as the mafia), I had to take on this identity. However, that shouldn’t matter. I work in the industry and know the truth. I write the truth. And I do it in such a threatening way that Bill Werde spends several hours of his life trying to discredit me and other critics of Lady Gaga.

If I was just some troll blogger, why would Werde make phone calls to universities I supposedly attended? Why would he attempt to get me and others who write negative stuff about Gaga fired? Why would he contact his friends at Buzzfeed and Gawker in order to discredit my stories? Have you ever heard of someone who held such a high position at a music industry trade publications try to discredit articles–even if they were written by supposed trolls? It seems that Bill Werde, with possibly the direction of Team Gaga, has a goal to put the blame of ARTFLOP’s failure on some unknown writers, rather than admitting it is a bad album and people are sick of Lady Gaga. But he can’t stop us. There are too many of us who know he is a deranged psychotic Lady Gaga stan disguised as a “music industry” professional. He does have a love for all things pop music, but for some reason, Gaga has stolen his heart.
Though I can’t divulge my true identity (yet), I can say that Bill Werde knows who I am. And like several other people who worked with Billboard, I think he is generally a really nice guy. However, his Lady Gaga fandom is dangerous—he spends several hours of the day thinking about her, writing about her, and trolling online sites to stick up for her. He actually joined the music stan site ATRL.net in order to further divulge on his obsession with Gaga. That would be okay, unless you are the editorial director for an industry magazine.
I knew Bill Werde would be dismissed from Billboard a couple days before it happened, and even wrote about it. I speculated that he was dismissed because of his paying lip-service to certain stars (not only Gaga), but never stated that was the exact reason. Werde and his parent company now state that he was just “transferred” to another position. When you are “transferred” to some digital media job after being the editorial director for Billboard, something strange is going on. But, I could be wrong and will gladly admit I am wrong if I have enough proof.
I never started the rumors that Bill Werde was “fired.” If you do a Google search, you will see that I am not the only one who used this term when referring to Werde’s dismissal. But Werde doesn’t deal with the truth—he will do anything to discredit people who don’t follow his game of thought. Several staff members at Billboard are glad he is gone specifically because of this.
Billboard, under Werde’s direction, makes “Dope” a top-ten hit, despite the fact most people have never heard the song.
I have asked Werde, several times, to respond to one concerning question: How did the song “Dope” by Lady Gaga chart in the top ten when the song was never played on the radio and barely sold on iTunes (except for pre-orders)? He has consistently avoided answering the question. However, I have the answer: A video clip of “Dope” was used as an advertisement before several thousand YouTube videos. Even though viewers didn’t solely intend to view the clip of “Dope,” Billboard, under Werde’s leadership, still counted the views towards their charts.
I have also asked Werde (and Billboard) why their front page always consists of articles stanning for Lady Gaga? Is it because—oh, I don’t know—they are being PAID to? I can only speculate this, especially since last September, you can go to Billboard.com any day of the week and find several articles on the front page praising Lady Gaga like she is Jesus. In any case, it’s such a shame what Billboard, once the leader in the music industry press, has become.
Bill Werde and Lady Gaga’s most ardent “little monsters” claim that I made up the rumor that Interscope lost $25 million on Gaga’s ARTFLOP album. First of all, I am not the one who came up with that number, but strongly believe Interscope spent that much on promotional costs and was told so by a source very close to Gaga. Could that person be lying in order to get revenge on their former business partner? I would have to say not because this person is very humble and doesn’t appear to take things personally. If that number was so false, as Werde claims, how come major media outlets like the New York Times, New York Magazine, the LA Times, and even Business Week made the same claims? Betcha Billy Boy doesn’t have an answer to that!

In any case, there is a difference between losing $25 million and spending $25 million to promote an album. I’m sure Interscope got back some of the money they invested, but still lost a lot. That is why they are trying to sell ARTPOP at deeply discounted rates on Amazon.com, Google Play, and iTunes. In fact, they were so desperate that ARTPOP was advertised as a new album on iTunes last week. It may help sales temporarily, but not in the long run.
I have dedicated a lot of my time exposing the truth, because the music industry has become a lot like the mafia. They will push artists like Lady Gaga to the masses, even if it means exploiting young gay adults and teenagers. If you speak up against the exploitation of these kids, corrupt industry policemen, such as Bill Werde, will try and discredit you. Let’s exploit kids all way want—as long as it makes money, right? It is similar (but not as bad, obviously) as the Catholic Church hiding all the child molesters and using guerrilla tactics to dissuade the victims from telling the truth.
So, I’ll summarize: My real name is not Angela Cheng, but so what? I absolutely stand by everything I have written and my cause to expose the music industry. People like Bill Werde and his friends at Buzzfeed and Gawker can discredit me all they want. But the truth will come out—it always does.

Does she not realize that her articles are no longer just trolling, but slander? If Interscope and/or Bill wanted to, they could easily figure out who she really is and file a hefty lawsuit. No one is truly anonymous on the Internet. A white hat hacker or hacktivist could easily expose her real identity and I'm sure Interscope or Gaga has more than enough money to hire one. Is this dedicated hatred over a popstar really worth it?

Update: Several people have informed me that in Billy Boy’s blog post (I refuse to link to it), he indicates that the only responsible journalist in the Gaga fiasco is Roger Friedman of Showbiz411. Nothing against Mr. Friedman at all, but isn’t it quite suspect that the journalist Werde names did a hatchet job on Madonna’s MDNA, wrote false information about sales figures, etc? Betcha Billy Boy can’t explain this!
