The Stonewall Inn raid happened right after her funeral. The police force, feared what WE might do that day. There was always a strong connection between Judy and us gays. Back then, she wasn't just 'some actress.' she gave us hope. Through her own struggles. People were EXTREMELY emotional that day. The police force were on high alert that day, because of her death. They were afraid we would do something, so they raided, put a stop. Keep the gays away.

I believe...through energy, spirituality...that entire day was all connected. I believe her spirit gave us the extra kick we needed. It wasn't the SOLE reason. But, everything that day pointed to her in some way.

Regardless of who created the flag or what started parades, gay pride is a wonderful time for supporters of the community and the community alike to come together. It is a good time and those homosexuals and etc who are embarrassed or ashamed of it are likely embarrassed or ashamed of themselves.

Fourth of July...people get drunk off their a's! I know straight adults that act worse. Of course gay pride isn't the same. But, it's still the same hidden meaning. It's our Independence. Let us rejoice, frollic, be naked if we want too. Let the music play. But, let us not forget!

I've just never seen so many gay men (or most likely little boys) be against gay pride. I've never experienced that in real life with gay people. I guess internalized homophobia is still a big thing in our community

Yeah no, you wouldn't catch me dead at Gay Pride. I don't like it, and never will.

I can be gay, independent and love my life without all that mess.

It's not a joke.. it's the absolute truth.. Pride is really a hot ass mess. It stands for nothing these days.

Honey people are walking around half naked or even naked having sex on the streets on the 4th. Sure they get drunk but it's a holiday. Gay pride is a celebration and gay people should celebrate clothed and not be tacky underdressed thirsty messes.

These are likely the same people who identify as "masc" and believe "no one can tell I'm straight" as they blare Work Bitch in the confines of their closet house. The point of pride is to show case who we are as a community, not submit to heterosexuals and what they believe a real community should be. That defeats the entire purpose.

Some gays have to stop idolizing heterosexuals, it is really depressing. They so desperately want to fit in, which I understand because gay isn't exactly the 'norm.' Still though

I am, by no means, anti heteronormative as in I want to get married and be in a monogamous marriage.

Because being a significant figure outside of the norm is already hard enough, and having a sense of unity with people who share the same sense of sexuality gives one pride to embrace who they are.
