I doubt she's actually funding this. Desi Hits recruited her to become a pop star so they and Interscope are probably paying for it. Considering how cheap her songs are and the lack of promo, I doubt it's a lot of funding.
She's already said that she's not going to take time off from Bollywood because she thinks she can balance both careers, which is delusional. Establishing the ground work for a pop music career takes a lot of time, effort and actual performances, not tacky songs like "In My City" with two week visits to LA and NYC for magazine interviews. I think she knows that she can't afford to drop movies. She's established in Bollywood so she has a much smaller chance of flopping there. Besides, turning down roles, especially at her age, is a big mistake. It's not like filmmakers are going to wait for her. They'll just go to a younger actress.

Nope. It was supposed to come out in 2012, but it keeps being pushed back because she's yet to deliver a hit single.
