The urban community remembers her as an island girl transition into a bad girl, Umbrella, Chris Brown incident, red hair, Birthday Cake, Lov7 song, and Pour It Up.
it's true though. my hotel played this yesterday () but i had totally forgotten about it. my urban station used to play this all the time, right up until the 2009 incident.
chris and rih were such an urban power couple in 2008. people were so jelaous of her
I didn't stan for her until late LOUD, but I always liked her very much and I remember waiting since Disturbia for a new single til' Rude Boy. Even as a person who was interested in her music I didn't even know she had some out. Everything about Rated R (except RB) wasn't noticed by GP.
People don't buy Rihanna albums because half the time people don't realize they exist. Rih's musical style and imagery is constantly changing. I know she hates PR, but consistency would help her sooo much
I've always been a fan or at least warm to Rihanna. I never hated her. Yet I had no idea TTT was released until a month or two after it came out... I remember Rated R and thinking she was sucidial. I wanted another GGGB and straight up dropped her. I didn't become a fan again until TTT (I bopped to Rude Boy and songs on LOUD) and despite being a fan, I had no idea UNA was happening until the 777 tour started
I remember the first time I heard Russian Roulette tho.
I was like 12 and the radio host came on and said 'and here is the new Rihanna!'
And I was hyped cause I knew Disturbia and liked it.
Then he played it and I was like 'the **** is this boring ****?'
I would hate if she stopped changing things up. Consistency is not the actual key.
The actual problem is that she always quickly changing to a new era. She needs to learn to separate an era. Not just switch to a new one when she's bored.
LOUD&GGGB are extremely distinguishable which can be one of the many reasons of its success.
They remember RR for the fashion and/or blonde mohawk actually.
But that's not the same thing as remembering an era or music from an era. Just because they remember the fashion doesn't mean they remember Rated R. They don't make the connection.
Rihanna is the best album seller out of all the pop girls. She had only 7 promo slots for Unapologetic. No gimmicks, era all over the place and yet she sold 4 million albums. When you think about Gaga/Katy/Beyonce and all the stuff they have to do to sell albums and Rih can half ass an era and sell more than most pop girls.
like..
not only that but she also releases an album yearly and has the shortest eras out of all the pop girls
I love Aubrey, but I feel like he's going to do Rih wrong. She's at his shows, wearing his clothes, trying to show she cares and he's basically paying her dust... I don't get it. I hope he snaps out of it and treats his dream girl right before it's too late

How is he paying her dust?
- Have you not heard the 8326849439 songs he made about her, he fought over her in a damn club, he wore Rihanna Navy hoodie and a pic of her Grammy dress. He said he loved her before they were even a couple, and he was blowing kisses to her at his last show
I'm talking about NOW. He's letting her wear his clothes, letting her follow him around everywhere, but he has done nothing to explicitly claim her. She's being as obvious as possible while he's laying low. Idk. We'll have to see.
He's going to Toronto and I wouldn't be surprised if some of his old flames show up again.
