Unless I'm given some logical reason otherwise, I will always jump to the defense of a Black person.

We as Blacks already living in a White-dominated society that doesn't want us to succeed, so I'm reluctant to view racial awareness as not being "progressive" or what ****ery he's talking about.

Regardless of what we want to admit, EVERY race does it. He needs to sit his rapist ass down because Blacks were on his side when he decided to get himself in trouble.

You know, it isn't as if black people always jump to the defense of other blacks, every time one of us is incarcerated or gunned down. By the time the Heat took that photo and Kobe got wind of the case, facts had been reported about the case in major reputable media outlet in the US. So, Kobe needs to sit his ass down and stop pretending that the groundswell of support was some sort of knee jerk reaction. It took weeks, maybe months after the shooting happened before the case got public support. That case resonated with so many because Trayvon was an unarmed kid who died because of racial profiling. It could've happened to any one of those tall, ball players walking the streets in hoodies carrying tea and Skittles, no matter how money they had in the bank. That's why the Heat took that picture, because unlike Kobe, they understood.

I don't get why what he said is so wrong? Am I missing something else because what I gathered is that you should NOT defend someone just because they are the same race as you. Which is absolutely true, what kind of ignorance.

I'm Latino and I wouldn't defend another Latino who does wrong just because he's the same race or from the same country that my family is from. I WILL defend someone who is treated unfairly and has done nothing wrong though, but that applies to anyone of any race.

We should naturally stand by our people to make sure we are being portrayed in the right light but not at the expense of standing by someone who is completely wrong.

According to some of you, I should be defending George Zimmerman because he's part Latino.
