Antiquated beliefs have no basis in logical argument against a kid being adopted by a gay couple. There's really no legitimate study that proves it's harmful to the kid. What matters more is the kid is raised with love, values and education. Better to be raised with logic than with blindly ingrained in erroneous beliefs.
And besides, there's literally thousands of kids, if not millions, that are stuck in an orphanage or the foster system that hardly enough hetero couples adopt. This is a reflection on society's inability to move past the fact that the traditional concepts of family is outdated. Otherwise, you'll be arguing against single parent/widowed/step-parents/grandparents raising kids alone. Which doesn't make sense.
Baby steps I guess.
