It makes sense.

The Last Of Us was released so late in the PS3's life-span that although it has done really well, people were also thinking next-gen. Lots of people trade in PS3's to get money for a PS4 (which I think they have done too early). I worked at EB Games last year (Australian version of GameStop) and the amount of PS3 trade-ins and X360 trade in's was massive.

I think people will be more interested in the game if they do this. The same thing happened to Animal Crossing on Nintendo 64, they released it to GameCube because the game was great it was just too close to the next console.

Meanwhile, The Last Of Us is already on it's way to 7 million. It doesn't necessarily need it either. It would just be great for PS4 and extra game sales.

It's going to be on Playstation Now anyway but not having to deal with that streaming mess would make it so much better.

No shade but for how long did most Last Of Us/Sony stans insult Nintendo for using/milking the same IPs again in the similar ways (remakes, re-releases, sequels, etc.) yet the same thing is being done with Naughty Dog?

I don't even want to hear the "they're just expanding their audiences" or "it was only done once unlike Nintendo doing it for years!!1!" because this isn't even the first time. They've done it in the past too with Crash (when they owned the IP), Jak and Daxter and Uncharted. This just officially makes it a pot and kettle situation.

So a game can't have a sequel? They can't release games for next-gen consoles?

The game was released on both consoles at the same time. Anything before release is part of development. Go home!

The text you posted insinuates that Sony fans call out Nintendo fans for re-releases, sequels etc. when I've never seen that happen here. Crash only had 3 games under Naughty Dog. Jak & Daxtar haven't had a new games since 2007 or something. SCEI's biggest IP hasn't had a new game since 2010.

The only thing I've seen is that Nintendo barely work on new IP's, which is true.
