Janet Jackson has signed up for a reality show with MTV
Janet Jackson has decided to throw her hat into the reality-TV ring, developing a new show with 25/7 Productions for MTV.
The show will search YMCAs, churches, community centers and other atypical places to find the next Janet Jackson, Justin Timberlake or Usher — basically someone who has an amazing voice and can also bust some serious moves. (And, presumably, can weather a massive PR nightmare in the wake of "accidental" nudity.)
The untitled show, reports Variety, will be shot in the next few months before Jackson takes off on her next world tour on Sept. 10.

I'm excited for this. Shows like "Living Lohan" and "It's Complicated" are desperate, but shows like this are fun!

Oh, goodness. I had a feeling she was desperate, but not THIS desperate. How could she stoop so low?

It doesn't make it any different. It's still a desperate move.

Whatever, I think she's just doing it for fun. I don't think she's trying to gain fame.

What a dumb idea. And if it premieres on the 'Celebrity Cemetery' also known as 'VH1', she may as well viciously murder her career, and burn the remains.

good grief she is producing a show not starring in a show , and from the sound of it the focus will not be on Janet, it's a talent compettion.

^Exactly. I really don't understand what ppl have against this talented ass, beautiful and kind-hearted woman. It's as if she can do no right. I bet if certain other big name artists were doing this instead of Janet, everything would be happy go lucky without question.
This should be very interesting. I love talent competitions!

I am usually with you on ish, but don't touch Janet. She has had a much more successful career of longevity in music our good friend Raven would like. Janet is doing this showcase talent, and she's producing. Janet is a talent woman, in and out, and an active gay role-model. Pop off.

Based on the description, it sounds like an idea that's been used millions of times already, and pretty boring. If Janet wants to do reality television, she should do one about her day-to-day life like Hey Paula.

Okay so if it flops her name will still be on it. And this will be another talent show where the winner never releases ****. NEXT.

Just like when Missy Elliot had that show "Missy's Road To Stardom" and when TLC had that "R U The Girl" show to find a new member for TLC
These shows just seem like excuses for the celeb to be on tv....

I'm not 100% sure if this is really to find a new artist.
The twist is supposedly that she'll show this person the ropes on tour. Perhaps they'll open for her or something, or dance with her, IDK.
If it is to find a new artist, I mean she's basically married to Jermaine Dupri. It shouldn't be a problem for that person to get connected.

As someone stated Missy Elliott and TLC did this before. Missy knows everyone, and TLC was under L.A. Reid. JD isn't at the same ranks.

This might be shameless plugging but I couldn't resist.

This girl is ****ing amazing. She did remixes of "Beat Goes On," "Feedback," "Rock With U," "Don't Stop the Music," "Just Fine" and some song by Cheri Dennis. All of them are literally orgasmic. She doesn't change the music--aside from adding base and depth, making them hotter--but she adds in her own verse, and each one fits in perfectly with the songs she mixes. I downloaded both Janets and the Madonna. Random, but worth it!

Im Janet's biggest fan. Literally. I loved her since I was 5 years old, I grew up on her. I don't like the idea of this show.
Also, where does it say she's 'producing' the show?

Exactly, so if he couldn't even fulfill a show with TLC...trust me no one famous will come out of this.
