Universal showed a lot from Angelina Jolie's UNBROKEN. Def looks like an Award contender. Studio is confident in it and they should be.

Universal's presentation, which took place right after the annual State of the Industry event at CinemaCon, featured never-before-seen footage from Fifty Shades of Grey, Fast 7, and Unbroken, the biopic of World War II POW Louis Zamperini directed by Angelina Jolie.
It was clearly Angelina Jolie who stole this show. As the only star Universal trotted out on stage , she was there this time as the director of their Christmas Day release, Unbroken and introduced seven minutes of footage from what definitely looks like a possible Oscar juggernaut. It has all the makings.
“I made this film because in the end is a message we need more than ever,” said Jolie, “it is the journey of a man finding his way through the darkness and into the light…[it puts us] face to face with darkness and tells us to never ever give up.”
The movie could also provide a real Oscar opportunity for its ten-time nominated cinematographer Roger Deakins and six-time nominated composer Alexandre Desplat among others. Universal knows what they have here and that is why it grabbed the Christmas Day slot.
