Why is it that other artists around her have suffered from severe overexposure and flopped but yet Katy continues to conquer the charts and the radio. Is it payola? or something else? Honest question.

Amazing management, label, promotion, material, looks, personality, etc.

Her type of music is really catchy, easy-to-love pop music, and she does it very well on top of that. When you're as fun to bop to as "Teenage Dream" it's hard to be overexposed.
