She did say on The Voice that she's in charge of wardrobe, staging, and creatives. She just didn't tell contestants that this is actually a bad thing.

Wait wait. Ive never downloaded a whole Shakira album before but I took a chance on this one cuz I love Empire.

It's really good!. Definitely not what I expected, there's a lot of different genres all meshed together: pop, rock, alternative, country, dance... It's cool! I need to listen to it a few more times before I really judge but Dare, Cut Me Deep, and Spotlight and Broken Record are definite faves.

I also like how it's a very "light" album (like Prism but less generic). You can definitely tell that it was heavily influenced by the positive relationship she has with her family
