We know who got the better end of the deal by him leaving!

Yep, and good thing he left, because if he stayed he probably wouldn't have that 80 million - it would be less.
Artists are like stock markets. You keep investing and investing until you think it's not worth it anymore, and that's when you sell out. That's exactly what Akon did.

So one second, monsters are about the art and that pop music shouldn't be the business it is. Next they're quoting Forbes numbers.
Like your mother monster, you seem to like to have it both ways.
Hence, the meltdowns.

Not all the monsters are acting like victims , i wish the generalizing on this forum would stop. and you flat out pointing out how people have been relishing in gaga's decline on here just might push some monsters to feel victimized. keep it up as you'll create another problem.

And monsters are obviously sensitive about Akon talking like that but i doubt most of you would be thrilled to hear someone who worked with one of your faves say the same; no matter how true it is. A little courtesy and respect goes a long way. Even boom kack gave a classy response when asked about gaga as a dancer POST-working with her and I'm sure she had plenty to drag her with.
|
Agreed, but it can also be because they're not mature enough to understand this. I've worked with friends that's given me great opportunities but they let me go out of no where because I wasn't performing well. They said they had to do it because keeping me was effecting them. At the end of the day I understand that you can't always have the mentality that your friends, peers, or whoever will have your back 100%.
And I don't get why the monsters are overacting. He just knew he was making any money anymore. Should he continue his "friendship", even if he knew he was going to lose money? Or he could just leave before the decline starts happening. That's why in the real world, it's called a partnership, and if you guys are not old enough to understand that, this is why you do not mix friends with business. However, it looks like Akon is professional about it (which I admire) because he did not leave her maliciously, and I'm sure they are on good terms.

As obnoxious as it is for him to say this, you really have to wonder how Gaga behaves behind the scenes to make so many of her former cohorts regard her so poorly.
And if most of you were Akon, I'm sure you would have seen the writing on the wall and left too when it started hitting where it hurts (the bank account).

It's business y'all, nothing personal. Get over it.
If Gaga didn't want to be part of it, she should go off & be an indie artist. Don't play victim when you knew exactly what you were getting yourself into.

And again the generalizing . When have you seen me do all of that?! Some of my other fellow monsters may do that but that's why they're having meltdowns and I'm chill. Ditto with a few others. A minority but it's bs to be compared and blamed for crap that you didn't do.

Totally. People in this thread are all "Oh he's still alive?""But where is he now?" "He can remain irrelevant"
Well, I think Akon is the one laughing. All he had to do was invest in money on GaGa and now he doesn't need to appear on the tabloids, release music, produce music for others, because he has that GaGa money in his account. And didn't he say he made enough money from GaGa to retire?
Regardless, good job for Akon.

There is something called decency, which is what lacked in his statement & how he acted. Sure, you did what you wanted to, Ok, kool! You got your money, but you have no right to disregard your previous, seemingly cordial association with someone just because you have moved on.
His whole demeanor was disrespectful. He could've worded it differently. Seeing as he was once a big star and mingled with people from all walks of life, he should be able to speak eloquently, without resorting to the lingo & mannerisms of a elementary school kid.
And what do you mean by "They are not mature enough to understand this?" Please refrain from generalizing monsters as "immature".

Oh I understand perfectly, as do some other monsters. One guy even said it a few pages back: It's not what Akon said or did but how he said it. Akon could drop by Gaga's for thanksgiving every year and we don't know about it; but that he just said these things without any tact and while she is declining makes him sound like a shady jerk. The timing of it all obviously adds more fuel to the fire.
If anything, this makes me hope for a better deal for Kesha because god only knows what deal dr. Luke has her on!

Ok @ people acting like Gaga isn't still one of the leading money-making popstars around. Like, kii.
Gaga assuredly made more money for Akon than he ever did for himself.

Nnnnnn not you bringing in your life "experiences" as evidence that your right and knowledgeable. take several seats. The point that is disgusting about his comments is how he spoke about her.
