Ibuprofen (which is what Advil is?) works the best for me due to the anti inflammatory properties. Followed by Naproxen (Aleve), then acetaminophen (Tylenol). Aspirin never works for me.
Maybe I should elaborate... Because of my sickle cell I've developed a slight opioid tolerance so OTC meds like Tylenol, Advil, Aleve, etc do nothing for me so I have to take stronger dosages of oxycontin; however, because it's so addictive I'd rather sit in pain until I absolutely can't tolerate it anymore before I pop a pill.
