Nicki's entire success is of her exceptional ability to RAP. It was Hip Hop and Rap music that put Nicki on. It is through that genre that she found success.

Of course Nicki's not going to completely abandon all semblance of pop-influences. There will be crossover tracks. No one has claimed we're getting an album of 18 BABs and LANs.

As long as she stays away from generic **** like Automatic and Marilyn Monroe I'll be happy. I unashamedly love Pound The Alarm and Starships. Of course I prefer her hip-hop songs, but I'll pretty much be thrilled with anything, as long as she's rapping.

If shes going to do pop maybe something thats not so euro-trashy and cheesy. I will admit I love pretty much all the pop songs on RR but she really shouldnt go with that sound again.

I'm so upset with Nicki for completely ignoring all her Pop smashes and not owning / working with it.

I don't like pop Nicki. She falls short compared to all the other pop artists. Rap is where she shines the most. Plus, in this day and age, pop girls are struggling while rappers sell 200k first week with no hit single, no promo, no buzz and no budget. Why would ANYONE choose the pop audience over the hip hop audience?

That being said, I wouldn't mind if she had 3-4 pop friendly tracks on the album. Not pop, just pop friendly. Kind of like what Lauryn did with her legendary album, but a modern twist of that.

Depends, what songs are you talking about? Cause 'Lookin Ass' for example couldn't be any further from being Pop.
