It was reported this morning that after 4 years of managing the Mets that Willie Randolph was released of his managing duties this morning at 3AM by Mets General Manage Omar Minaya.Today is huge and shocking day in Baseball.Also Pitching Coach Rick Peterson was fired as well.Interim manager Jerry Manuel will be replacing Willie Randolph starting today.

I have to say in my opinion,Omar made a really bad decision.He should have at least let Willie finish the season.I mean come on the Mets won 9-6 against the Anaheim Angels last night,who knows if they just started turning things around.I know they've been struggling for a bit but I still say Omar made a bad decision.It's not going to be the same without Willie.

Mets suck. Their whole team should have been fired.

Anyway, the only person that shouldn't have been fired was Randolph. It is not his fault his team plays like garbage. They are not turning it around this year anyway. Randolph is probably happy to be gone from this team. He will likely get a job coaching another team next season (a better one).

The Yankees on the other hand, are turning it around now and got an easy as cake schedule coming up until the beginning of next month.

Go Yankees!!!!! Mets suck (but we still love Randolph!!!)

Well I will admit the Mets aren't doing as good as last year,but they still have a chance,they're 5 games away from the Phillies who are in 1st place in the East Coast Division of the National League.Randolph should not have been fired.Also I will say this the Mets Pitching has not been doing so good.The only one's that have been pitching great games are Pedro Martinez,Johan Santana,and Mike Pelfrey.The Mets need to lose Oliver Perez,he really sucks.Billy Wagner lately I'm surprised to see has been struggling.He's there best closer and he blew 3 games last week but has been doing better this week so far.I hope the Mets can get it together and make it to the playoffs.Though the release of Willie today is gonna have a negative affect on their morality.I hope they stay on the winning track.

^ Johan has been pitching good games but he is being payed to pitch fantastic games. He is supossed to be the best in the league and is currently not even close to that.

Mark my words, the Phillies are going to run away with the division (from everyone, not just the Mets), especially after the Yankees sweep the Mets next week (although the Yankees now have their own problems with Wang out till September).
Pedro has so far had a pretty good comeback after injury.
Mike Pelfrey and Oliver Perez are hit or miss which is not good enough.

Anyway, I'm going to the Yankees game tonight. The Yankees definition of inconsistency is pitching (Petitte) so who knows what kind of game we get tonight.

Good decision, bad timing. They should have either fired him earlier in the season or at least wait a bit more, perhaps at least until the all-star break.
