He did.. kinda.. he jumped in as she was already writing songs for The Fame. He helped her, but it's not like she wouldn't have continued finishing the record without him. He rode the Fame and bailed out when she peaked. It was all for money.

They just tacked Akon on to widen her rhythmic/urban demographic. And after TFM it was apparent she wasn't going down that route. Good for Akon for makin his money, but it's clear he was tacked on to push her career back in 2008 when he was nearing his peak.

You do realize Akon's actual VOCALS are in Just Dance? He was there ever since the recording process at the very latest.

The decline started during the Born This Way era. He got out early because he was no longer needed and because she was going in different directions than the urban format he wanted to promote her on. He used her for quick cash not thinking she'd last past Poker Face.

It was dumb to get out so early.

from that trip, Akon met, signed and helped launch Lady Gaga’s career. from that same trip, Akon and I became good friends/ writing partners. he gave me a CD of tracks before i left to write to. from That CD of tracks i wrote songs for Leona Lewis (“Forgive Me”), Whitney Houston (“Like I Never Left”, “I Got You”) and Michael Jackson (“Hold My Hand”). and my career as songwriter blossomed.

Tami Chynn never came out, and i thought Hynotico was a lost cause. but in 2011, it resurfaced as a song Jennifer Lopez was interested in for her new album. she finally recorded it and it made it onto her latest album, Love?
