Anyway, any of those 2 or SL were kinda local, they had impact no question, in a very huge scale but still its always 80% in the US the rest WW, her whole career has been like that, she won the billboard of the decade because she definitely sells more than almost everyone else in the US, but WW has always been another story.

Single Ladies was a local release (US and only a few other countries) but still managed to go global. I think that is more impressive than a song that is actually released and promoted in other countries. The thing about Beyonce's music is that yes, she does sell a lot more in the US but her music style is also very American. For her music to appeal to so many outside of America while being distinctively R&B even through times of nearly exclusive dance op popularity is a testament to her music, and not a dedication to marketing.

I'd venture to say that Beyonce was still an It Girl for 2004 as well. Ciara's success was new but it didn't have the impact or overreaching media attention that Beyonce had. Keep in mind that in 2004 Beyonce was asked to perform at the Superbowl but declined and instead sang the National Anthem. She performed three songs at the Academy Awards in 2004. She had two hit singles, Me, Myself and I and Naughty Girl. She won a record 5 Grammys in one night in 2004. She was featured in a high budget Pepsi commercial with Britney, P!nk and Enrique and she released a hit single with Destiny's Child.

You're right in some respects. She has always been there. She has been on top of the music scene since 1997. Even with her underperforming album she still sold more than most it girls, pop girls, and people with what were regarded as "successful" eras.

You might as well save your energy, she's had amazing success in her career on par with and sometimes more than the other pop girls but these girls have it in their head that she's a nobody and doesn't deserve to be recognized for the amazing job she does. Let them have their opinion because it does not take away from the Slayage she has induced.

I realize that most people are coming in with pressed notions of her success but I like to make counterpoints even if its unnecessary. Just to let them know that no matter how they try to spin it, the inaccuracies in their statements are very obvious.
