Now I know we have many discussions about race on ATRL, and often its stated that reverse racism (racism against white people) is not real. I find this statement to be extremely ignorant personally, and I stumbled across a video that I hope would shed some light onto this situation. You don't have to agree with it, but I believe this video shows that indeed anyone can face racism.
It's true. Racism is mistreatment and/or discrimination based on race. That's it. Racism has been around way before slavery African's faced when the colonies settled in the West.
Many parts of the world have instititionalized racism mostly due to European influences. That still doesn't mean racism vs the majority is not possible. Just like some caucasian American's are born into poverty and unstable households. It doesn't mean white priviledge went away. It also doesn't mean these person's don't need help just like the minorites who do.
Racism on an individual level can be done to anyone by anyone.
Institutional racism is something that cannot be done to whites because they hold the power in the economy and the media as well as the justice system.
I refuse to believe that racism against whites exists
The term 'reverse racism' is laughable tbh whites can be prejudiced against or discriminated against, but they cannot experience racism.

HA! no. white people can get their feelings hurt but they will never experience institutionalized racism that sets them back just because of their race.
I'm sure the "white people eat mayo" and "white people can't dance" jokes get under your skin tho
This argument will never end will it? Like the title said, everyone can experience racism, and those who disagree seem to have some kind of victim complex.

Yep.
What I don't understand is why some people here act like racism is exclusive to black people. Right, slaves etc. They are just more prone to racism than whites because of their history but that doesn't mean racism to white people isn't possible.
People need to take a more hypothetical viewpoint. Yes institutionalised racism exists against black people (I feel like this is mostly a US thing tho), but it is certainly possible for any race to be discriminated against.
Yes.
But white people can't face institutional racism.
Also I think historical discrimination of, for example, Jews or Romani people, even though they are considered "white" (and yes, Jews are a nationality, not only religion) is racism as well. For example, in my country, Poland, Hitler's people easily differentiated Jews who are darker than Poles and have different facial features.

Find me a society where the White/Euro population is 'oppressed'? Not even in the deepest darkest Blackest parts of Africa.
You are the ignorant one missing the damn point. Anti-White racism is not institutionalized or wide-scale.
Who gives a **** if someone calls you a cracker?
Who gives a **** if someone assumes you're a bad dancer?
It will NEVER compare to what people of color experience, EVER.
So do you believe that there has never been a white person in the history of humanity who has been greatly abused by others because of the colour of his skin?
There isn't a social justice class in the world that wouldn't laugh you out of the room for saying it's a real thing It's really ignorant to make the comparison. Law enforcement is more likely to stop and be violent with people of colour. Our society at large antagonizes other races. Specific instances of random white people getting treated differently is not the same thing at all.
