Sci Fi Channel has announced Scare Tactics' third season will premiere Wednesday, July 9 at 10PM ET/PT with two back-to-back half-hour episodes of the hidden-camera reality series that petrifies the pants off of unsuspecting victims.

Hosted by former Saturday Night Live cast member and current 30 Rock star Tracy Morgan, the show will follow a similar format to its first two editions -- with friends and family members of an unsuspecting victim helping to set-up up an elaborately staged scary situation, complete with movie-style special effects and makeup.

Each Scare Tactics segment ends with the hoax being revealed to the victim, and while home viewers may find the frightening funny, those being scared-stiff almost assuredly do not.

Sci Fi Channel renewed Scare Tactics for a third season in March -- more than four years after its last original episode aired.

I'm happy that it's back, but not the new host Tracy Morgan. Ugh.

This is the 3rd host they have had for this show, I remember Shannen Doherty from Charmed & Beverly Hills 90210 hosted the 1st season, she was the right host

She was fired from 90210 and didn't last on Charmed.

Never really got a chance to see Scare Tactics, but I really liked that show MTV had called Room 401 or something.

"Scare Tactis" was fantastic. This show is awesomeness. I just love to see the reaction of the victims. Watch the videos on YouTube. Dozens of them are there.

The red girl expression was priceless, the way she yelling, omfg. But the gay guy? LMFAO, hilarious!

Um I think it's kinda dumb to not watch this show anymore, just because she's not hosting it anymore, this show is not about the host, it's about people pulling pranks on the others just to scare them, that's why I watch this show, I don't watch it just to see the host, I do agree she was the best host, but honestly who cares who they get to host this show, just as long they keep this show on the air.

I'll miss the catty Shannen Doherty. Why can't she just stay long enough in a show? Darn her...too bad the show will forever be associated with her. There's something abt her that add Oomph to the show.....
