I think it would've helped a bit because a lot of people were turned off by her antics during btw plus her fans became extremely aggressive and hostile towards other artists that they perceived as competition towards gaga.

So it's not only btw that was the problem. Her fans aggressiveness also hurt her career.

Born This Way the single sold over a million in 5 days and the Audio video went Vevo certified.
She was so big at that moment that the GUY video would probably have broken the current Vevo record.

Still the same perhaps. Let's face it, Born This Way was successful because she came off a HUGELY successful era and as a new artist, all the hype is on YOU. If she decided to release another album, it would've performed the same as well. Although maybe some of the ship jumpers would've probably still be here with her

And that is why BTW and ARTPOP needed to happen. GUY would have done better than BTW, most likely, and I'm sure it would have given Gaga and her fans more ammunition. The GUY video wouldn't have been the same if all those things hadn't happened to Gaga. It probably would have been some 20min black and white snooze fest about something completely ridiculous.

it would not make artpop any more enjoyable to listen to or successful (in my opinion). Good music is the reason why follow-up albums do well. artpop would've debuted high but still fallen like a rock.

I think it can be universally accepted that ARTPOP and Born This Way kinda should be switched. I feel like an album like BTW can come any time, hype or not - ARTPOP can't.

It wouldn't of changed anything, at the end of the day... Born This Way still sold more and had more hit singles... I doubt ARTPOP will sell as much or have has many hits.

ANYWAY, I wish she released ARTPOP after TFM and release BTW as the 4th Album. 3rd album are always commercial & not very great quality wise. it's a formula used by all Legends. she tried to do sth new but it failed a bit. the 4TH ALBUM is when you can take a risk and still do good commercially (even if it's not a hit album like the 3rd)

eg: 4, Like A Prayer, Dangerous, In The Zone, Rated R, etc....

I'd have her release Born This Way but with a majority of ARTPOP songs on it. Americano, Hooker, Bloody Mary, Judas and all the religious stuff would get the axe. Born This Way would've slayed if it's tracklist was:

Then she could release Applause + DWUW for the next era.

BTW was just so dark and dreary. Some of the ARTPOP songs would've slayed the GP back then. Especially Venus & GUY.

It could have been beneficial since lots of casuals dropped her with BTW, going from Alejandro to G.U.Y isn't that much of a departure
