i don't think any major artist has the freedom to do whatever they want. even mj fought with his label.

you only get to make all the decisions if you've used your money and you're completely independent.
remember a record label is kind of a bank and they loan you money to do things but you have a contract and an obligation.

bey talks about record labels fighting her for creative control all the time... gaga fought with interscope constantly this era. what makes you think rih's situation is any different? no one is immune from the powers that be unless you're independent

RIh would slay Virgin Records. She could get a lucrative deal with them like Janet or Mariah did.

releasing jump after what now wouldn't have made sense. right now killed the era. rih shouldn't have to/shouldn't be advised to make deals like that. why should david guetta, a man who literally produced the worst song on the album, get to dictate anything? why did that happen?

Rihanna is not heartless and at one point she loved Chris, so I do think she might have reached out when he was in rehab or got sent to jail. But I doubt they talk frequently or will get back together.
