Hey, look, someone who's talking SENSE.
I don't know, you tell me, since your name screams "FAIL" no matter what you post.

I used to be a really big fan of Ashanti when her first two albums came out. But, when Concrete Rose came out, I sort of lost all the love I had for her. I still like her music, but I don't love her like I used to. It's really hard to look at her opening week sales from her past albums and now. But, music sales have declined a lot since her debut album. But, anyway her new album has good songs on it. If they can figure out a way to send some of them to pop I can see this album easily going gold. Another mistake is that she doesn't get enough promo the way she should. She has been doing TV shows, but to me, she should be doing a whole lot more than that. Plus, I think she should already have a second single out.

I honestly think they don't listen to her music. That's the only reasonable answer lmao

Mya? She is on Broadway right now, in a MAJOR play by the name of "Chicago" as a main character. Mya's doing very well for herself, plus she left her last label before her album was released because they wouldn't give her promotion. And if I recall correctly, Mya had some hits in the 00's as well.

and they only listen to albums that have sold 3 million copies or more in the U.S. BECAUSE THAT AUTOMATICALLY MEANS THEY'RE GOOD~!

Actually, Mya's biggest(?) hit was in 2000/2001, with "Case of the Ex", and it's better than any of the ******** Dani listens to.

I mean in terms of CD sales. Their popularity faded in the early 2000's. The singers I mentioned just can't sell CDs like they used to.

I'm starting to think that a lot of you people here seem to think any artist who sold less than 1 million copies of their album isn't worth listening to.
Who cares if an artist flopped? Does that automatically mean the album is worse than one who didn't flop. Some of you, sadly, will actually answer yes to that though.

^ I totally agree, if you like an artist and they flop, you should still like them as much as you did. I personally love listening to Ashanti's old songs like Foolish, Always On Time, Only U and Happy, just forget about the fact that no one likes her as much, its happening with everyone nowadays.

"Case Of the Ex" = Mya's best single to date.
("My Love Is Like ... Wo" comes second).
And yea even if an artist flops it doesn't necessarly mean the material was lacking. Many good albums end up flopping.
But it is nice to see when your favorite artist actually sells well.

Of course not, but the point is, they can't have a hit album. Their popularity just keeps fading away.

That's the thing i've never understood; being the hardcore fan that I am, I've seen her improve in so many aspects over the years. However I still see people dog her for EVERY lil' thing, she really does get a lot more flack than she deserves, you can tell she works hard & keeps at it which is admirable. Anyway her new cd is hot! Good Good goes for adds next week so if she can get a hit with this one, she should pick up in sales, if not, OH WELL! The cd is hot & that's all that really matters.

I love you for that post. I like this site and I love coming here, but it seems like if an artist has not sold one million copies here, they get laughed at and deemed a flop. I don't know, maybe it's just me.
