Some of you acting like its not had some good reviews. Yes it has. I think many critics are just weary of these YA franchise movies adapted from popular books.

From what Ive seen it looks enjoyable enough. Its certainly on another level to those other flops mentioned(Mortal instruments etc). It has quality actors for a start.

Yeah, Divergent lucked in by casting so well. They have people who've gotten major roles and acclaim before. That should help the series in the long run if the next movie fixes some of the current issues and the fanbase grows.

$22.8 million on friday, not impressive but definitely a good start. I'm expecting about $55 million this weekend.

Can someone please tell me how is this different from The Hunger Games, and should I read the books? Cause I loved The Hunger Games trilogy.

The whole story is different tho. Instead of HG they have to choose a faction in a society.

The first two HP movies got a 64 and 63 on MC. And HG got a 67. Not as bad as Divergent but not critically acclaimed either

Beautiful Creatures had Emma Thompson, Viola Davis and Jeremy Irons. The leads sucked tho.

Despite the bad reviews ill still watch it for the m83 soundtrack. Their last album Hurry Up Were Dreaming is a masterpiece

I like Shailene so I'm glad, but I have no interest in this movie whatsoever.

Critics didn't OMG love them, but the vast majority of critics at least enjoyed all three films.

As opposed to Divergent 40%
Even Beautiful Creatures had 46%, and Twilight 49%.

So is this like hunger games? Pass.

No, don't congratulate this. 22 million is likely a fraction of the money they spent to HAMMER this mediocre, cliche film into the heads of any and all citizens of earth in their promo campaign.

No one is here for it.

So dramatic. It's gonna make double its budget.

This may not SMASH like HG but it will certainly be very successful.
