The Dreamcast sold 10M consoles and Sonic still managed to sell 2.5 million copies.
It doesn't matter how many consoles are shipped. Games still sell incredibly well if they are good.
I mean New Super Mario Bros. U has sold over 3 million copies and they have only sold under 6 million Wii U's.

The fact is, The Last Of Us is outselling Animal Crossing.
Both consoles have a huge Audience and so console sales aren't a problem, especially when the 3DS is at 40M+
