Does anyone else agree with me though that it is incredibly ****ed up for a record label full of businessman who don't know musicality from rubbish to shelve a project indefinitely and just tell the artist that their album is being delayed? Universal in their conference room was probably like "we'll tell azealia we're delaying it until the summer, but we're never going to release this". Same with MIA, and Angel Haze. Isn't it also ironic that it's these female rappers, could the label's response be a response against female rap music? Who knows.

You need to make some compromises, you can't be expecting to get your own way and get everything you want. They're a nobody who just expects a record label to trust them and invest in them. Record labels whether people like it or not, are a business and they can't function without money, so they need to make sure that the artists they invest in, will make them money otherwise there's no point.

Azealia may be a really-good (I won't say great) artist but who is going to buy her music and make her successful if she isn't making music that will appeal to as many people as possible, get radio play, etc.

Where does that money come from? No one will spend money on artists who don't make appealing music. Nicki has some commercial songs (Your Love, Super Bass, Starships) even though, she's a rapper.

It's a two-way thing! Artists don't understand the businessmen and the businessmen don't understand the artist.

If she does this she'll further hurt her own career. Her label will remain unbothered like it or not. Sad because she's insanely talented.
