The Canadian Hot 100, is much better compared to the US. I'd say for Hip-Hop, the States are the best, but for a mix of music, the Australian chart is the absoulete Bee's Knees Can't top it!

Tierra you can't just sit there and say that the US Hot 100 is amazing. Other charts have such a variety of music, yet the Americans just stick to the same stuff.

Well I feel the US charts are great. I love our music, I don't think you guys should speak for everyone saying it sucks, cause there are poeople like me who don't think it sucks.

I agree. Canada has the ****** hits every once and a while, but they have more variety. I mean "4 Minutes" hit #1. Britney got three top ten hits ("GM" #1, "POM" #5, "BTI" #9), and "POM" spent forever on the chart. "Apologize" spent like 10+ weeks at #1. Its just so different and more acceptable. I mean "Labels Or Love" debuted at #30 this week. Where is it at US? Oh yeah being ignored so people can lick "Lollipops".

Tierra I don't hate the US Hot 100, and I'm not trying to get other people to hate it, cos I love Hip-Hop and when I like a song, and it does well in the States, I'm happy, but then you don't get a good variety, and too many of the songs stay on too long, songs from Paula Abdul & Cascada missed the top 50, because of the airplay chart, the US needs to start getting a variety of music into their airplay chart, it would be the best for the whole chart

Coldplay's Viva La Vida made it to #1! Now, THAT is a song that deserves the top spot, not those crappy rap/hip-hop songs!

You wanna know what I say, just forget the charts!!! What you listen to is your charts. Everyone has different tastes in music, those charts are just nothing really its because a money chart, which artist is getting the most money for their song. Just have your own music chart cause what you like is better than what charts say no matter what country your in.

It's just a chart, really it isn't that important. This chart has never really necessarily been home to the best or most important music anyway. My main gripe with the chart is airplay is counted too much in an era when the reality is radio is an outdated medium, but it doesn't matter really because the chart is what it is, it isn't the "bible of music". Most songs on the hot 100 are forgotten in time, while you'll have some songs that didn't chart well and they're remember way better than number 1 hits. In the end the Hot 100 is pretty meaningless.

the billboard hot 100 is a pop chart. it tracks popular songs. not everything that is good is popular. not everything you love is popular. not everything you think, not matter how much they "do or dont" deserve it, should be popular, is popular. that simple, really.
