I was pretty surprised to learn that Madonna was good friends with Basquiat. Is she mentioned in the movie about him?

And no, she is not in the movie. There is a character played by Courtney Love and its possible she was based a little bit on Madonna, but the character is mostly fictional as far as I know...

Courtney Love's character was apparently based a little on her - Basquiat actually had a girlfriend when they were ''dating'', and she and Madonna fought it out at the Roxy in NYC (1982).
The girl talks about it at about 1:33 I think. Madonna was a mess.
